Mother’s Day is one of the most special days of the year. Kids have the chance to honor their parents, perhaps by serving Mom a delicious breakfast in bed. Older kids who’ve flown the coop usually arrange to spend some quality time with their moms during Mother’s Day weekend. You’re never too old to cook Mom (or your kids’ mom) a special Mother’s Day brunch!
I know that going out to eat is a time-honored treat for special occasions like this. Far be it from me to say that you shouldn’t take your mom out for a lovely brunch! But these days, we are all staying closer to home. Moreover, preparing that Mother’s Day brunch yourself, with your own hands, makes it all the more special.
If weather permits, trying serving brunch outside. You can decorate the table to make it extra fancy, too. May is the perfect month for a centerpiece of fresh spring flowers. Excellent flowers for Mother’s Day include roses, carnations, tulips, and peonies. Bonus points if you pick the flowers yourself!
