13 Easy Pie Recipes

So yes, I’ve been watching what I eat lately since all the heavy hitting eating during the holidays. But on the weekend, I like to make a little treat—especially one of these easy pie recipes.

The weekend dessert motivates me through the hard days of not eating sugar and keeping a watch on my carbs. I think knowing that a pie or cookies are waiting for me in just a few days helps me to keep on keeping on. I also enjoy the process of making pies, so that’s an added bonus.

Foolproof Easy Pie Recipes: The Secret’s in the Crust

The crust to me is one of the most important components to making the best pie. Oftentimes, I like to add nuts, sugar, or herbs and spices to the crust, depending on what filling I’ll be using. My fallback recipe is always this No Fail Homemade Crust Recipe. It has just the right amount of flakiness, yet it holds up to almost any filling. In that post, I have 9 of my favorite tips for making the best pie crust for your pie.

Pie Fillings to Love: The Sky’s the Limit

The options for what to put in your pie crust are limitless. This weekend, I think I am going to go a little light and get a little extra vitamin C by making my Pineapple Pie. Some say if you add pecans, it’s called a Million Dollar Pie. This week, if I had a million dollars, I might just pay it for this pie!

If you are really in the mood for something rich, I suggest the Chocolate Meringue Pie, Key Lime Pie, or Bourbon Pecan Chocolate Chip Pie. Feel like having a slice of pie with a scoop of ice cream on top? Try the Alabama Peanut Pie, Blueberry Pie, Pear Pie, or my Baked Apple Dumplings!

I cannot leave one of my favorites, the Coconut Cream Pie. It’s great when you have a lot of eggs and milk to use up.

Most of these recipes have a Southern twist. A few more Southern pies you may want to try are the Sweet Potato Pie with Candied Nuts and Cream Cheese Whipped Cream, the Southern Spice Pie, and the fun Southern Fried Banana Pudding Pie!

Whichever you choose, you really can’t go wrong—just choose one! Enjoy the baking process, then eat without guilt, knowing next week, you’ll eat healthy and wait again for the weekend for that much needed pie fix!
