5 Favorite Apple Recipes for Fall

I’ve gathered my 5 favorite apple recipes because it’s the perfect time of year for them. Who doesn’t love a sweet, juicy fresh apple, especially in apple pies? In the fall, apples are at their best.

We grow our own apples along with other fruit trees. I love making use of our harvest any way I can. I put both sweet and tart apples in cobbler, apple crisp and crumble, tarts, salads — even in coleslaw!

With the holidays approaching, I’m focusing on my favorite apple desserts. It’s hard to imagine Thanksgiving and Christmas without warm, golden homemade apple pie, baked apple dumplings, and French apple cake.

All of these apple recipes are surprisingly simple yet sure to impress your guests. Scroll the list below and pick your favorite to try. Let me know in the recipe comments how it turns out!

I’m also including my daughter-in-law’s recipe for homemade apple cider vinegar (ACV), a thrifty way to use up those peels and cores from other apple recipes. Apple cider vinegar is not only a tasty condiment but may have health benefits. Some people believe that this home remedy can help with weight loss, but there is more evidence that it can prevent spikes in blood sugar.

If you garden, I hope you’ll also check out my post on grafting apple trees. Grafting fruit trees is easier than you may think. The super cool thing is that grafting will give you the parent tree every time — a perfect clone! Isn’t it wild that we can eat the same tasting fruit our ancestors before us ate? Even if you never plan to graft, I hope you’ll watch the video in the post. It’s a pretty interesting process.
