HEAD OVER HEELS FOR WILD FOODS

Last weekend I had the fun task of filming 13 segments for THE SPORTING CHEF TV SHOW. One of my favorite segments I get to spend the entire 30 minutes “hosting the show” with SCOTT LEYSATH, The Sporting Chef himself! We made pizza together and this pizza is “to die for!”

You are going to love next season of The Sporting Chef. It airs every Saturday morning on The Sportsman Channel at 10:30 Central (I always put Central because I get confused on time zones and that happens to be my time zone) or 11:30 Eastern.

Scott is so very easy going and he makes my job super easy. Seriously, he is full of wisdom and knowledge about everything edible! Brooks, from Camp Chef – a wonderful outdoor product company – is just AWESOME! He makes sure I have all the great products I need and somehow makes me look good on camera ( that takes a genius for sure).

Not in order, but what you can expect from my segments are:

Thin Crust Three Cheese Pizza with Venison Sausage
Duck Hogie with Jalapeño Mayonnaise and Cucumber Carrot Slaw
Whole Bass in Tomato and Onions
Crappie with White Beans
Hydroponics – How to Grow Vegetables without Soil
Fried Rabbit with Chipotle Aioli
How to Brine a Wild Turkey Breast
Smoked Wild Turkey
…a few surprises
We had so much fun that I was loaded with energy on the last day of filming (that is until the next day when I totally crashed) so my daughter taunted me into trying an aerial. I told her I may have done my last aerial, but she just kept taunting me with, “Someday you won’t be able to do it…” I couldn’t resist. I failed in my first 3 attempts, but finally…well, you will just have to watch the video…watch the whole 19 seconds.
