Easy Berry Sauce

 
           I like to use frozen berry mix when I am in a hurry or the berries are not in season. Do not add water to the saucepan. Place the berries into the saucepan. Add the sugar. Bring berries to a simmer. Add vanilla and a few more berries to add texture.
 
 

Easy Berry Sauce

Yields 1 pint
 
 

Ingredients:

 
  • 3 cups fresh blackberries, raspberries, strawberries,or a mixture
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar, depending on your taste
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
 
  1. Bring 2 1/2 cups of berries, 1/4 cup of water and sugar to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 2 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and berries are cooked through.
  2. Add the remaining 1/2 cup of berries to mixture and incorporate.
  3. Serve over chocolate cake or ice cream.
