Easy Recipes for Special Dads on Father’s Day
I was told that the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Now I don’t know how true that is, but it definitely seems like the case! Any time Father’s Day rolls around, I try and brainstorm as many recipes as I can. I have a lot of special dads in my family whose sacrifices as fathers deserve celebration. Fathers all around the country work hard every single day for their families. They sacrifice their time and their bodies (often through hard physical labor) so their wives and children can live in comfort. They deserve way more than one day out of the year for their efforts to be recognized, but we can make this one day as special as possible!
Let’s talk a little bit about my dad, as a tribute. He’s the best gardener I’ve ever known. I’ve mentioned his gardening before in my article about planting on Good Friday. He’s very in tune with the soil, and can make any plant bear magnificent fruits in the garden, almost by magic! He’s also an avid fisherman, and always brings back a big catch on his trips to the fishing hole. So when I try to think of something good to cook for him, the recipes usually revolve around fish. His favorite dish of mine is actually one I call Fabulous Bream. Bream is his favorite fish, and I try to make it for him as much as I can. But I know that not all dads like fish, so I’ve included some other non-fish recipes for y’all. Make your dad happy by serving him something he likes! Unfortunately, dads can be especially picky.
Perfect Father’s Day Recipes
- Easy Venison Chili Con Carne
- Venison Burger
- Duck Meatballs
- Venison Sausage over grits
- Smokey Baked BBQ Ribs
- Spicy Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dressing
You can always substitute the venison for a different kind of meat, if you don’t currently have access to venison. I’ve had some good reviews making turkey burgers, for example. And any kind of sausage will work over those grits.
If you want to wake up a little early and put together a hearty brunch for the dad in your family, this Mexican Venison and Eggs skillet breakfast is just perfect.
